The People Power Party sharply criticized the Lee Jae Myung administration on Friday, stating that its delusional approach to North Korea is severely undermining the security of the Korean Peninsula.

Park Chung-kwon, the party’s chief floor spokesperson, issued a statement highlighting that North Korea conducted a series of missile tests over three days, beginning on the 6th – the very day President Lee expressed regret. These tests included electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapons, carbon fiber bombs, and cluster munitions.

Park emphasized that while North Korea is testing blackout bombs and electromagnetic weapons capable of crippling power grids, effectively changing the nature of warfare, the government plans to reduce frontline troops by 25%. This is tantamount to self-sabotage, dismantling our defense lines and practically handing the nation over to North Korea.

He further stated that submissive diplomacy, such as expressing regret, only serves to demoralize the military and erode the trust of the allies. The government must break free from North Korea’s manipulation tactics and immediately cease its dangerous optimism and attempts to dismantle the security apparatus.

During a floor strategy meeting, Representative Kang Dae-sik, the opposition party’s secretary on the National Assembly’s Defense Committee, stressed that national security cannot be managed by intentions or hopes alone. The government’s messaging towards North Korea must be grounded in reality, and the military readiness must remain unwavering.
