South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol departed for Brazil on Sunday to attend the G20 Summit.
Yoon, currently in Peru for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, boarded Air Force One at the Second Air Force Base in Lima and departed for Rio de Janeiro earlier in the day.
On the first day of the G20 Summit, Yoon will participate in the launch ceremony of the Global Hunger and Poverty Eradication Alliance, a key initiative of Brazil, this year’s chair country. During the first session, he is also scheduled to highlight South Korea’s contributions to eradicating hunger and poverty.
The following day, Yoon will attend the third session, themed around sustainable development and energy transition, where he plans to advocate for international collaboration to tackle the climate crisis and accelerate the transition to clean energy.
