Volvo Car Korea, Mercedes-Benz Korea, MAN Truck & Bus Korea, Jaguar Land Rover Korea, and Nissan Korea have issued voluntary recalls for 117,925 vehicles across 49 models due to manufacturing defects.

On Thursday, the South Korea Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport reported that 95,573 units of eight Volvo models, including the XC60, may have faulty event data recorder (EDR) software that could block proper logging of operational data. Another 1,560 units of three models, also including the XC60, face fire risk due to defective drive battery manufacturing. Recalls will begin on Friday and April 21, respectively.

Mercedes-Benz will begin a recall on Friday for 17,285 vehicles across nine models, including the S580, due to weak brake hose durability that could cause brake fluid leaks.

MAN Truck & Bus began fixing 1,515 vehicles across 24 models, including the TGX tractor, on April 1. These units risk unexpected gear shifts from Drive to Neutral due to central control unit overload.

Jaguar Land Rover will begin a recall on April 14 for 1,401 vehicles across four models, including the New Range Rover P530 LWB, due to possible moisture in the rear camera that may affect the rear-view display.

Nissan began repairs on the PATHFINDER model on April 1 due to hood latch corrosion that could cause the hood to open unexpectedly while driving.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said consumers can check the recall status at the automobile recall center. By entering the vehicle identification number (VIN), owners can find out if their car is under recall and see defect details.
