Kia unveiled the all-new Seltos and EV3 at the 2026 New York International Auto Show, marking a push into both the North American SUV and electric vehicle markets. The automaker is exhibiting 21 vehicles at the Jacob K.
Javits Convention Center through April 12, including the K4, K5, EV6, Telluride, Sorento, Sportage, and Carnival. To address growing hybrid demand, Kia plans to expand hybrid models across its entire SUV lineup. The Sportage hybrid, its highest-volume model, will be produced at the Hyundai Motor Group Meta Plant America facility in Georgia to meet local demand.
“This strategy will enable Kia to continue its growth and strengthen its competitiveness in the North American market,” said Seung-kyu Yoon, president of Kia North America. Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Kia is also rolling out a series of brand activations under the message “Inspiration connects us all,” including a children’s selection program for the FIFA Official Match Ball Carrier program and the hosting of an OMBC Cup event.

The all-new Seltos made its North American debut in New York, arriving in two powertrain options: a 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine and a 2.0-liter gasoline engine. A 1.6-liter hybrid model rounds out the lineup, offering improved fuel efficiency.
The new Seltos grows roughly 2.4 inches in length over the previous generation and features a class-leading 105.9-inch wheelbase, delivering a more spacious interior. The X-Line variant adds exclusive bumpers, skid plates, and side sills for a bolder look. Inside, a panoramic display combines a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 5-inch climate control panel, and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen.
Kia plans to launch the 1.6 turbo and 2.0 gasoline models in the U.S. in the second quarter, with the hybrid following in the fourth quarter.
The EV3 compact electric SUV also made its North American debut. A U.S.-exclusive Nightfall Edition features blacked-out exterior details and a dark gray interior finish. Two battery options are available: a long-range model with an 81.4 kWh pack and a standard model with a 58.3 kWh pack. The EV3 comes standard with a NACS charging port and can charge from 10% to 80% in 29 minutes on a 350 kW fast charger for the standard model. Five trims will be offered — Light, Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT — with a U.S. launch targeted for the second half of this year.
Both the Seltos and EV3 will feature Kia’s AI Assistant, which uses generative AI to enable two-way communication between driver and vehicle. Through Kia’s OTA service, occupants can access YouTube, Disney+, Netflix, games, and other applications directly from the vehicle display.
Kia is also offering the Kia MyQ Connected Garage feature, which allows drivers to automatically open and close their garage door or control it remotely through the vehicle’s display.

Kia revealed the PV5 WAV concept at the New York Auto Show, developed in collaboration with BraunAbility, a North American mobility specialist. The company plans to run demonstration projects in New York alongside government agencies, disability facilities, organizations, and vehicle-sharing platforms.
“Kia sold over 850,000 units in the U.S. last year, achieving a new annual sales record for three consecutive years,” said Eric Watson, vice president of sales at Kia America. “We will solidify our position in the U.S. market even further.”
