Lexus Korea announced today that it will begin accepting pre-orders for its all-new ES premium sedan at official dealerships nationwide starting Monday.
The eighth-generation, fully redesigned ES is slated for official launch in the domestic market on October 13. The lineup will feature a total of nine trims, including four hybrid (HEV) grades and five battery electric vehicle (BEV) grades – a first for the ES model.
This move not only strengthens Lexus’s hybrid competitiveness but also broadens customer options by introducing new battery electric vehicles (EVs).
The all-new ES has undergone comprehensive improvements, enhancing its overall appeal from powertrain and platform to design and interior space.
The new BEV lineup consists of the front-wheel drive ES 350e and the all-wheel drive ES 500e. The ES 350e boasts an impressive domestically certified range of 478 km (about 297 milse) on a single charge at room temperature. The ES 500e features Lexus’s advanced Direct4 all-wheel drive system, which precisely controls power distribution between the front and rear wheels.
To support customer purchases, Lexus Korea is introducing the Amazing Switch program, a residual value guarantee financing plan.
For the ES 350e Premium model, customers are guaranteed a 50% residual value (35.8 million KRW (about 26,637 USD)) after three years, which can increase to 60% with deferred payments. Based on a 30% down payment, 20% guarantee, 5.8% annual percentage rate (APR), and a 36-month term, monthly payments start around 420,000 KRW (about 312 USD).
The hybrid ES 350h features Lexus’s sixth-generation hybrid system. The hybrid lineup now includes all-wheel drive (AWD) models, offering more choices to suit various driving conditions and customer lifestyles.
The all-new ES is built on the newly designed GA-K platform, engineered to accommodate both BEV and HEV powertrains. This platform enhances body rigidity at the front, floor, and rear, reducing vibrations while delivering responsive steering and smooth acceleration and deceleration.
With an expanded body size and wheelbase, the new ES offers a more spacious interior than its predecessor, particularly in the rear seating area, enhancing passenger comfort and livability.
The interior features a large 14-inch display and a customizable ‘multi-ambient light’ system, creating various atmospheric settings.
Kang Dae-hwan, Vice President of Lexus Korea, stated that it will provide electrification options that cater to the customers’ diverse lifestyles and usage patterns.
The manufacturer’s suggested retail prices for the all-new ES BEV lineup, including value added tax (VAT) and based on a 5% individual consumption tax, are as follows: ES 350e Premium at 71.6 million KRW (about 53,270 USD), ES 350e Luxury at 80.2 million KRW (about 59,617 USD), ES 350e VIP at 83.9 million KRW (about 62,368 USD), ES 500e Premium at 77 million KRW (about 57,238 USD), and ES 500e Luxury at 84.9 million KRW (about 63,152 USD).
Pricing for the HEV lineup is set at: ES 350h Premium 72.9 million KRW (about 54,226 USD), ES 350h Luxury 77.8 million KRW (about 57,871 USD), ES 350h AWD Premium 75.9 million KRW (about 56,458 USD), and ES 350h AWD Luxury 80.8 million KRW (about 60,102 USD).
Meanwhile, Lexus Korea continues to expand its network, now operating 32 dealerships and 38 authorized service centers nationwide, including the recently opened Lexus Dongtan showroom and service center.
