A video of two Korean men engaging in a sexual act on a street at Thailand’s Songkran festival is rapidly spreading online.

According to local media outlets in Thailand, such as Channel 3 and 7HD News, on the 16th (local time), two men who engaged in a public sexual act on a street in the Ratchada area of Bangkok were identified as young Korean males.

The Songkran Festival takes place in Thailand. During it, people sprinkle water and smear mud on each other to wash away a year’s bad luck.

The men were reportedly engaged in oral sex inside a yellow tent set up on Ratchada Soi 4 road.

In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), a man wearing goggles on his head was seen standing with his pants down, and another man, shirtless with a blue hat and black pants, was kneeling in front of him, performing the sexual act.

The man in the blue hat then stood up, exposing his buttocks, and they swapped places to continue the act, seemingly oblivious to the people passing by. A security guard who witnessed the act intervened shortly after.

As the video spread online and sparked controversy, local police launched an investigation. The police confirmed that the two men were Korean and stated, “We received a report about the incident, but no one has come forward to file a complaint.”

The men faced a fine of up to 5,000 baht (approximately $150) under Thailand’s Penal Code Section 388 for exposing their bodies and committing an obscene act in public.

The police acted swiftly to charge the men, but they reportedly left Thailand before facing punishment.

Local netizens who saw the video criticized the men, saying, “This is Thailand’s traditional Songkran festival. They’re damaging Thailand’s image,” “Go to a hotel,” “Don’t come to another country and behave like this because you’re oppressed in your own,” “Are you crazy doing this in a public place,” and “Animals,” expressing their disapproval.
