Google Cloud announced on July 18 that it has launched Google Distributed Cloud, which provides Google’s cloud and AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology in a tactical edge environment.
Google Distributed Cloud is a new hardware and software integrated solution with a new air gap.
The solution supports real-time local data processing related to AI applications such as object detection, medical image analysis, and critical infrastructure predictive maintenance. It can be applied to industrial automation, logistics transportation, and disaster response.
A Google Cloud official said, “Companies in remote environments, have unstable connections, or are frequently mobile, such as research labs, long-distance truck transport operations, and disaster areas, often face significant challenges in providing computing capabilities. Google Distributed Cloud can be transported in a robust case or installed in a rack within the local operating environment for each customer.”
