Kia plans to attend IDEX 2025, the most significant defense industry exhibition in the Middle East and Africa region. The event will be held from Monday to Friday in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

At this exhibition, Kia will unveil its bonnet-type bare chassis of the Kia Medium Tactical Vehicle (KMTV), the two-seater cargo version of the Kia Light Tactical Vehicle (KLTV), and the Kia Tasman.

The KMTV will replace the existing 2.5-ton and 5-ton military standard vehicles and will be supplied to the South Korean military starting this June. It is equipped with advanced features such as front and rear cameras and GPS systems, which enhance the safer transport of personnel and supplies.

Moreover, this vehicle boasts impressive capabilities, including crossing a river up to 3.3 feet deep, navigating 60% longitudinal and 40% lateral slopes, and transporting up to 25 passengers. These features ensure reliable performance even in rough driving environments.

The KMTV’s bonnet-type bare chassis consists only of a frame and engine, allowing it to be manufactured in various designs to meet specific needs. The driver’s seat is positioned behind the engine, which provides enhanced protection against frontal threats.

The two-seat cargo version of the KLTV provides the military with reliable performance in various environments based on its capabilities, including the ability to cross 2.5 feet deep river, navigate 60% slopes and 40% lateral slopes, start in temperatures as low as -26°F, and electromagnetic shield functions.

The KLTV has been adopted by the Korean military and exported to the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. Notably, it was selected for the Polish military’s vehicle replacement project.

Kia will also showcase the Tasman, its first-ever pickup truck. The IDEX 2025 display model features special modifications tailored for Middle Eastern and African markets, including a matte desert-colored painting, snorkel, and front bumper bull bar.
