On Thursday, LG Electronics announced that it will rebrand its ultra-premium built-in kitchen appliance line, “Signature Kitchen Suite,” to “SKS,” strengthening its position in the global built-in appliance market.

LG Electronics will change the name of its built-in kitchen appliance brand, Signature Kitchen Suite, which was launched in 2016 and marks its 10th anniversary this year. The new name, SKS, is more intuitive for customers while maintaining the brand’s core philosophy of being “True to Food.”

In the premium built-in appliance market, which continues to grow despite the global economic slowdown, LG Electronics aims to solidify its leadership in home appliances with a built-in brand that incorporates core components technology, customer-oriented artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and sophisticated design. According to market research firm Euromonitor, the size of the global built-in appliance market is expected to reach $64.5 billion this year.

LG will unveil its expanded SKS lineup at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) 2025, the largest kitchen and bathroom exhibition in the U.S., to be held in Las Vegas from February 25 to 27.

KBIS is an exhibition that represents the latest trends in kitchens and bathrooms. Every year, it draws a global audience of interior design professionals, kitchen specialists, architects, and consumers interested in cutting-edge built-in appliances.

At KBIS, LG will debut its concept product: an island system featuring a hidden induction cooktop and integrated hood for the first time. This innovative design showcases LG’s vision for a “total space solution” for the overall interior design of the kitchen space.

The hidden induction cooktop installed under the table is usually invisible and only displayed as a light when cooking, which helps keep the kitchen tidy. The integrated hood can be stored under the countertop when not in use. Air curtain technology is employed to remove smoke efficiently and oil vapor generated during cooking by guiding it to the lower vent.

Another highlight will be LG’s new 36-inch Cook-zone-free Induction Pro Range. This product is equipped with all-free induction technology, automatically detecting cookware size and position anywhere on its surface. It also features a built-in oven below, enabling simultaneous preparation of multiple dishes. This marks the first integration of all-free induction technology in a Pro Range.

The product is equipped with LG’s Gourmet AI technology, which uses an in-oven camera to analyze ingredients and suggest personalized recipes. The LG ThinQ app allows users to monitor the progress of their cooking in real-time and save videos and photos of their culinary creations.

Lyu Jaecheol, head of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company, expressed confidence that the rebranded SKS, with its distinctive value proposition, will strengthen its competitiveness in the built-in appliance market.
