During a golf meeting with President Donald Trump in the U.S. on October 18, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun stated that there are high expectations for the upcoming visit to Korea, emphasizing that everyone is working diligently on the preparations.

According to industry sources on Monday, on October 18 Chairman Chung participated in a golf event held at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, which is owned by President Trump.

The event, hosted by SoftBank Chairman Masayoshi Son, invited President Trump along with prominent business leaders from South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan to play golf in foursomes.

Among the attending South Korean business magnates were Chairman Chung, Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae Yong, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, and Hanwha Group Vice Chairman Kim Dong-kwan. However, reports indicate that they did not participate in the same foursome as President Trump.

At the event, Chairman Chung expressed his anticipation for President Trump’s attendance at the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, scheduled for October 31 in Gyeongju. Chairman Chung had previously met with President Trump at the White House in March, where he announced an investment plan of 21 billion USD in the U.S. President Trump is expected to visit South Korea to attend the APEC summit.
