EcoPro is set to unveil its cutting-edge lineup of high-nickel-based ternary and solid-state battery materials at INTERBATTERY 2026, the nation’s largest battery exhibition. These technologies are poised to revolutionize the future of electric vehicles (EVs) and humanoid robotics.

The company will also showcase its ambitious plans to enter the battery asset management market, overseeing the entire battery lifecycle and its commercialization. Additionally, EcoPro will present a blueprint for its Ochang Research and Development (R&D) Future Campus, which will spearhead the development of advanced material technologies.

On Thursday, EcoPro announced its participation in INTERBATTERY 2026, scheduled from March 11-13 at Convention & Exhibition Center (COEX) in Seoul’s Gangnam district. The company will feature four distinct exhibition zones under the theme Perfect Chain, Connected Value.

Zone 1, titled Global Network, will highlight EcoPro’s robust global supply chain. This includes their groundbreaking nickel refining operations in Indonesia and their strategically located factory in Hungary, which offers a unique advantage in navigating European regulations.

Over the past four years, EcoPro has invested approximately 800 billion KRW (about 545 million USD) to establish its nickel refining business, successfully stabilizing its supply chain. The company has positioned itself as the sole domestic battery materials manufacturer capable of meeting European regulatory standards, thanks to its cathode material factory in Hungary.

Building on its initial equity acquisition phase, EcoPro is now advancing to the second stage of its strategy. The company aims to lead mineral sovereignty through direct mining development, engaging in ongoing discussions with Indonesian mining companies and global financial institutions.

Zone 2, focused on Competitiveness Value, will showcase EcoPro’s diverse range of customer-tailored products. This includes high-nickel cathode materials, mid-nickel cathode materials for more affordable batteries, sodium-ion battery (SIB) cathode materials, and lithium manganese-rich (LMR) cathode materials. The company will also unveil its lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode materials, designed to meet the demands of the burgeoning energy storage system (ESS) market.

Zone 3, themed Future Innovation, will spotlight EcoPro’s advanced solid-state material technology and its development progress. The company plans to present solid electrolytes currently being developed in partnership with customers, targeting mass production by 2027. This zone will also feature cathode materials for solid-state batteries and lithium metal anodes.

Zone 4, Beyond Battery, will offer a glimpse into EcoPro’s future business ventures. The company is exploring innovative ways to create added value through a comprehensive battery lifecycle management system. This system encompasses the entire process from cathode material production to the reuse and recycling of spent batteries from EVs.

Visitors can expect to see a detailed roadmap for the construction of the Ochang R&D Future Campus (working title). This facility will be instrumental in supporting future technologies and new business initiatives, embodying EcoPro’s commitment to technological leadership.

An EcoPro spokesperson stated that they’re proud to exhibit our full lineup of solid-state materials, designed to meet the demands of the upcoming humanoid era. This showcase is built on the world-leading high-nickel technology. The representative added that they’re committed to further enhancing the ternary battery technology, which excels in delivering high energy density and output.

As an added feature, this year’s INTERBATTERY exhibition will include a job fair booth jointly hosted by EcoPro and EcoPro BM. Human resources representatives from EcoPro will conduct one-on-one interviews with potential candidates, providing company information and recruitment consultations.
