Apple is expected to launch its first foldable iPhone this fall alongside the iPhone 18 series, with a September release timeline remaining on track despite earlier concerns over delays.

According to Bloomberg on April 7, the company plans to unveil and release the new “foldable iPhone” in September together with its next-generation iPhone lineup.

While a simultaneous launch had been anticipated, recent reports suggested potential delays due to engineering challenges during the testing phase of the foldable device, raising concerns about production and shipment schedules.

However, Bloomberg reported that although initial supply could be delayed by several weeks due to the complexity of new displays and materials, Apple is still expected to introduce the foldable iPhone either alongside or shortly after standard iPhone models.

The device is expected to adopt a book-style folding design, featuring a 5.3-inch external display and a 7.8-inch foldable internal screen. Its thickness is projected to be about 0.35 inches when folded and 0.18 inches when unfolded.

Apple’s first foldable smartphone is expected to address common issues associated with foldable devices, including display quality, durability and visible screen creasing.

The foldable iPhone is expected to be priced above $2,000.
