EcoPro HN is set to supply large-scale greenhouse gas reduction equipment to a semiconductor production facility in Idaho, USA.

The company announced on Monday that it has inked a deal with Hoffman Construction Co. of America, a leading U.S. construction and engineering firm, to provide this cutting-edge equipment.

Valued at approximately 21 billion KRW (about 15.2 million USD), the contract represents about 15% of EcoPro HN’s sales from the previous year. The supply period is scheduled from this month through July of next year.

Hoffman Construction, renowned for its expertise in comprehensive construction and advanced manufacturing facilities, boasts extensive experience in developing semiconductor and other high-tech industrial complexes.

The large-scale greenhouse gas reduction equipment, developed independently by EcoPro HN, is designed to process perfluorocarbons (PFCs) generated during semiconductor manufacturing.

PFCs are particularly concerning as their global warming potential (GWP) is thousands to tens of thousands of times higher than that of CO₂. Reducing PFC emissions has become a critical challenge for semiconductor companies aiming to achieve carbon neutrality.

EcoPro HN’s innovative equipment utilizes a catalyst-based low-temperature decomposition technology, breaking down greenhouse gases at approximately 750-800°C (about 1382°F to 1472°F). The company claims this method slashes energy consumption by about 95% compared to conventional pyrolysis techniques (1300-1400°C, about 2372°F to 2552°F), while maintaining world-class removal efficiency.

The company is tailoring this equipment to meet the operational environments and regulatory standards of international sites, expanding its client base beyond South Korea to semiconductor facilities worldwide.

An EcoPro HN spokesperson stated that they’re capitalizing on the global trend of expanding semiconductor production investments. The goal is to extend the reach to overseas clients, particularly in North America.

In other news, EcoPro HN reported sales of 51.5 billion KRW (about 37.2 million USD) and an operating profit of 5.8 billion KRW (about 4.2 million USD) for the second quarter of this year. The company is seeing increased order fulfillment due to the booming semiconductor market, and its revenue is steadily growing, bolstered by supplies to overseas liquid natural gas (LNG) power plants.
