Hanmi Semiconductor unveiled its third collaborative artwork with world-renowned pop artist Philip Colbert on Wednesday. The piece is displayed through outdoor advertisements at the southern end of Dongjak Bridge on Olympic Boulevard, Gimpo Airport’s arrival area, and the Hanmi Semiconductor Seoul Building in Hannam-dong.

This initiative is part of a strategic promotional campaign to highlight Hanmi Semiconductor’s technological prowess and brand in the global artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor market, coinciding with the recent establishment of its U.S. subsidiary, Hanmi USA.

Scottish-born Philip Colbert, often hailed as the next Andy Warhol, is known for his vibrant, colorful works featuring cartoonish elements. He’s gained recognition for his unique artistic reinterpretation of lobsters as symbols, and his versatility across painting, media art, and fashion. Colbert has also garnered attention through marketing collaborations with global giants like Apple, Samsung, Nike, Bentley, and Rolex.

The artwork showcases Colbert’s iconic lobster characters gathered around Hanmi Semiconductor equipment. These characters, donning an array of colorful work uniforms in yellow, sky blue, and pink, are depicted assembling or inspecting equipment with tools and components in hand. The piece incorporates intricate details such as screws and toolboxes, offering a friendly portrayal of the semiconductor manufacturing environment.

A spokesperson for Hanmi Semiconductor stated that the collaboration with Philip Colbert aims to present a more approachable image of the semiconductor equipment company. It’s committed to building a distinctive brand value rooted in the innovative technology.

In related news, Hanmi Semiconductor, a global leader in semiconductor equipment, has officially entered the U.S. market with the launch of Hanmi USA on October 19. This follows the establishment of subsidiaries in Taiwan, China, and Singapore. The company emphasized that the creation of Hanmi USA fulfills the entrepreneurial vision embedded in the Hanmi name after 46 years. The name embodies the late founder Kwak No-gwon’s aspiration to bridge the semiconductor industries of Korea and the U.S.
