Despite facing conflicts with the parent company HYBE ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin demonstrated her dedication at the recent NewJeans fan meeting held at Tokyo Dome.
Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome, a fan meeting for NewJeans, took place at the Tokyo Dome on the 26th and 27th at 7 PM, where they met with local fans. Despite her ongoing conflict with HYBE, Min attended both days of the event. Officials from HYBE also attended the event, actively supporting NewJeans’ Tokyo Dome event.
Min also briefly greeted the reporters who visited the site on the 27th. When asked about her thoughts on the successful first day of the fan meeting on the previous day, she said, “I was nervous yesterday, but I think I’ll enjoy today if there are no technical issues.” She also added, “This experience on such a big stage will be helpful for the upcoming world tour” and asked fans to “please enjoy the fan meeting,” with a consistent bright smile throughout the event.
She also met directly with fans. On the 26th, she opened a pop-up store at Line Friends Square Shibuya in Tokyo, Japan to commemorate the release of NewJeans’ Japanese debut single, “Supernatural.” Min and Takashi Murakami, wearing NewJeans merchandise, visited the pop-up store and drew attention. Min garnered attention by smiling brightly and taking selfies with fans upon their request.
After the performance, fans who attended the Tokyo Dome fan meeting and visited the pop-up store actively engaged by sharing their proof shots on their own Instagram accounts, attracting attention for their enthusiastic communication.
In April, HYBE reported that Min attempted to seize control of ADOR, prompting an emergency audit. Subsequently, HYBE filed a complaint with the police for embezzlement. However, Min denied the allegations, stating, “I have never planned or attempted to seize control.” Currently, a police investigation is underway regarding this matter.
At the ADOR extraordinary shareholders’ meeting held on the 31st of May, two existing internal directors of ADOR were dismissed and three new internal directors were appointed. HYBE did not exercise its voting rights on the proposal to dismiss Min, allowing her to retain her position. Subsequently, Min held a second press conference expressing her willingness to compromise with HYBE, but a reconciliation mood has not yet been achieved.
Amid these circumstances, Min is actively supporting NewJeans’ activities in Japan. Since the release of NewJeans’ Japanese debut single “Supernatural,” Min has been actively promoting it on her social media, posting consecutive teasers of the music video, pop-up store, merchandise images, and her fan art.
Of course, HYBE, the parent company of ADOR, also actively supported NewJeans’ Tokyo Dome fan meeting in various ways.
