Mnet’s I-LAND2

The final debut members of I-LAND2 have been confirmed.

On July 4, Mnet’s I-LAND2: Final Countdown (hereinafter I-LAND 2) aired its final episode, featuring a live broadcast of the highly anticipated final countdown by the 10 contestants who made it to the finals (Kim Gyu Ri, Nam Yu Ju, Mai, Bang Jee Min, Ryu Sa Rang, Yoon Ji Yoon, Jeong Sae Bi, Choi Jung Eun, Koko, and Fuko).

Furthermore, a new girl group has emerged to lead the K-pop market, being watched by viewers from 217 countries and regions.

K-pop icon Jeon Somi appeared as a special storyteller in the live finale, collaborating with ZeroBaseOne member Sung Hanbin.

The final stage leading to the debut featured two new songs, “DRIP” and “FAKE IT,” produced by Teddy. Teddy himself decided on the units and parts for these songs. The dreamy “FAKE IT” unit, with center Jung Sae Bi, main vocalist Choi Jung Eun, main rapper Ryu Sa Rang, 4th part by Fuko, 5th part by Mai reinterpreted the unfamiliar emotion of love as a dream, presenting a stage uniquely tailored to the contestants.

The “DRIP” unit, featuring center Bang Jee Min, main vocalist Yoon Ji Yoon, main rapper Koko, with Nam Yu Ju in the 4th part and Kim Gyuri in the 5th part, showcased a flawless stage despite grappling with intricate choreography demanding swift movements, characterized by its rhythmic melody line.

After their performances of the new songs, the 10 contestants expressed gratitude to the global i-mates who have been significant support throughout their journey to debut. Their heartfelt performance allowed viewers to sense the camaraderie and unity among the contestants, who have continuously encouraged each other towards the same dream.

The contestants who survived the intense competition and secured a spot in the debut group include Choi Jung Eun, Bang Jee Min, Yoon Ji Yoon, Koko, Ryu Sa Rang, Mai, and Jung Sae Bi. Initially planned for six members, the main producer, Taeyang, surprised everyone with an announcement to add another member. Consequently, Jung Sae Bi joined as the final member, bringing the total number of debutants to seven.

Izna, which was formed through I-LAND2, will be under the production of Teddy and managed by the agency Wake One, gearing up for its official debut. Observers are keen to witness the potential impact of Izna with their diverse musical talents on the global K-pop market, anticipating the unfolding of their story in the future.
