Stray Kids took center stage as the headliners at the Lollapalooza Chicago music festival.
They headlined the Bud Light Stage at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois, on August 2, during the Lollapalooza Chicago music festival.
This performance marked their third major overseas festival headlining gig this year, following appearances at I-Days in Milan, Italy, and British Summer Time Hyde Park in London, England. It also underscored their consecutive invitation as headliners for Lollapalooza after their groundbreaking performance as the first K-pop artists at Lollapalooza Paris in July 2023.
Stray Kids kicked off the night in Chicago with the title track “S-Class” from their third full-length album, 5-STAR (★★★★★). They followed up with a series of songs that encapsulated the essence of the group, including “Awkward Silence,” “Super Bowl,” “Topline (Feat. Tiger JK),” “Voices,” “Item,” and “Domino.” They broadened their musical spectrum with tracks like “Lonely Street,” “Social Path (feat. Lisa),” “Charmer,” and “My Pace.” Building momentum, they led the crowd in sing-alongs to hits such as “Back Door,” “MANIAC,” and “God’s Menu.”
On that day, the highlight of the performance was Stray Kids’ debut of their new song and title track, “Chk Chk Boom,” from their mini-album ATE, which topped the Billboard 200 chart for five consecutive weeks. The members enjoyed the stage, heightening the atmosphere with Chicago’s enthusiastic response and cheers. Fueled by the audience’s enthusiasm, they also presented encore stages featuring tracks like “Rock” from their mini-album Leek-STAR, “Victory Song,” “MIROH,” and “TOPLINE.” Captivated by Stray Kids’ stage presence, the audience passionately requested encores even after the official performance ended. Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N kicked off with “Chk Chk Boom (Festival Ver.)” and filled the setlist with a total of 21 songs, concluding with “Haven.”
Recently, Stray Kids achieved a new personal best on the Billboard main charts. Their album ATE, released in July, and its title track, “Chk Chk Boom,” propelled them to the top of both the Billboard 200 and Artist 100 charts. Additionally, the song reached number 49 on the Hot 100 singles chart. This achievement marked their fourth instance of simultaneously leading Billboard 200 and Artist 100. Since debuting number one on the Billboard 200 in March 2022, they have solidified their position as the only group with five consecutive number-one entries on this chart.
Meanwhile, Stray Kids will kick off their new world tour Dominate with four concerts at Seoul’s KSPO Dome on August 24 to 25 and August 31 to September 1, boasting an unprecedented scale.
