The iconic K-pop girl group 2NE1 held its first solo concert in 10 years and 6 months, drawing a star-studded audience reminiscent of a Hollywood awards show.
At the 2024 2NE1 Concert: Welcome Back, held at the Olympic Hall in Seoul on Sunday, the legendary girl group celebrated its 15th anniversary, showcasing its immense talent and announcing a dazzling return. From the 4th, 2NE1 welcomed a total of 12,000 fans over three unforgettable days.
With an extensive catalog of hit songs, 2NE1’s reunion after a decade attracted numerous celebrities to the audience.
Before the concert commenced, the rising star group NewJeans made a surprise appearance, eliciting cheers from the crowd. They warmly greeted fans and took their seats at the back to fully enjoy 2NE1’s performance, dancing along to the group’s classic hits. Their excitement captured everyone’s attention during the dance challenge segment as they showcased their choreography on the big screen.
As the concert began and the lights dimmed, G-Dragon was spotted in the audience. He cautiously took his seat, dressed in a sleek leather jacket, but fans quickly recognized him and waved enthusiastically.
The reunion of the YG family also drew attention, with Daesung, Gummy, and Se7en sitting together. The trio was captured on the big screen during the dance challenge segment, bringing smiles to the audience with their enthusiastic dancing.
Additionally, many artists and celebrities enjoyed the show from the crowd, including Jennie, Stray Kids, BOYNEXTDOOR, Jinu and Song Minho from WINNER, Jung Yong Hwa, model Lee So Ra, Yoon Do Dyun, and Noh Hong Chul.
2NE1 opened the concert with its hit song “Come Back Home,” followed by performances of “Clap Your Hands” and “Can’t Nobody” before greeting its fans. Sandara Park emotionally expressed, “I missed you so much,” bringing tears to many in the audience.
The concert featured a total of 21 performances, all filled with the group’s beloved hits. Given its storied success, each song was met with enthusiastic sing-alongs, and the crowd erupted in cheers at the start of every performance.
The youngest member, Gong Minji, wowed the audience by flawlessly executing her signature split performance, showcasing her flexibility and powerful dance moves. Park Bom also made headlines with her return to peak beauty, impressing everyone with her explosive vocal power.
CL stole the spotlight with the only solo performance of the night, electrifying the audience with powerful renditions of “The Baddest Female” and “Mental Breakdown,” exuding a queen-like charisma that drew enthusiastic cheers.
Fans, eager to celebrate 2NE1’s return, showcased bold fashion choices for the concert, with one fan notably recreating Sandara Park’s iconic palm tree hairstyle.
Looking ahead, 2NE1 is set to kick off its Asia tour following the concert in Seoul, covering 15 performances across nine cities. They plan to visit Manila, Jakarta, Kobe, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, and Taipeg to connect with even more global fans.
