Actor Hyun Bin revealed that he shed tears during the final shooting of the film Harbin.
On Monday, the YouTube channel Zzanbro featured the cast of Harbin (directed by Woo Min Ho) enjoying drinks and lively conversation with host Shin Dong Yeob.
The episode included Hyun Bin, Jeon Yeo Been, Park Jung Min, and Park Hoon, the lead actors in Harbin, which opened in theaters on Tuesday. The film depicts the tense pursuit and suspicion between those heading to Harbin with a shared goal and those chasing them in 1909. It tells the story of the Harbin operation led by independence activist Ahn Jung Geun.
Jeon Yeo Been, who plays Ms.Gong in Harbin, shared her thoughts on the completed film: “After watching the film and as the ending credits rolled, I couldn’t get up easily. The weight and message of the film were so powerful that I deeply felt honored and proud to have been part of this project.”
Park Hoon, who portrays Mori Tatsuo in the film, shared behind-the-scenes stories from Harbin’s final shoot, drawing attention. He revealed that the heavy themes of the movie led to many discussions with Hyun Bin, who shed tears during the final shooting, surprising everyone. Having worked with Hyun Bin for the third time after the drama Memories of the Alhambra and the film Confidential Assignment 2, Park Hoon remarked that it was his first time seeing Hyun Bin cry. He added, “I think there was also a sense of liberation from the weight he had been carrying.”
Hyun Bin, who passionately portrays Ahn Jung Geun in the movie, confessed, “Playing a real historical figure carries immense pressure and weight.” He elaborated, “The more well-known and symbolic the figure, the greater the pressure. After we finished, I suddenly felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, and I think that’s when it hit me.”
