Sports trainer Hwang Chul Soon, known to the public for his appearance as Jingman on a past comedy program, has been revealed to be on trial for alleged assault of a female acquaintance.

According to the legal community, on May 23, Hwang is currently undergoing a trial for his assault, bodily harm, and property damage from February 2024. The trial is being reviewed by the Seoul Central District Court’s Criminal Division 2. Hwang is accused of arguing with the victim at an outdoor parking lot of a building in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province at around 3 AM on October 16 last year. He had used physical violence such as kicking the victim and hitting her head more than 20 times with his fist.

It has been told that Hwang did not stop there. He grabbed the victim’s hair, dragged her to his car, seated her in the passenger seat, and started assaulting her with his fists.

Hwang is also accused of throwing the victim’s mobile phone on the ground and kicking the car’s side mirror, causing damage. As a result, he also got charged with property damage. The victim suffered injuries such as fractures that required three weeks of treatment.

In 2021, he was fined $4,200 in a summary order for allegedly taking to break mobile phones of two men in their 20s after a dispute.
