On the 16th, the 10th anniversary of the Sewol ferry tragedy, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Ju Ho pledged to do his utmost to create safe schools.

On this day, Lee posted a memorial address on the Ministry of Education’s website for the 10th anniversary of the Sewol ferry disaster, saying, “I pray for the repose of the victims and send my deepest condolences to their families.”

He further pledged, “I will not forget the sorrow of that day and will remember the regrettable sacrifice of our children and teachers.”

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized, “The Ministry of Education will do its utmost to create happy and safe schools so that such tragedies aren’t repeated.”
