North Korea has resumed its propaganda war, reporting on South Korea’s trends and criticizing its government.

The Workers’ Party newspaper Rodong Sinmun reported on the 22nd, in an article titled “Impeachment Momentum Against Yoon Suk Yeol Rising in Puppet South Korea,” that voices calling for Yoon’s impeachment are emerging from South Korean universities.

Last week, the newspaper quoted a rally speech by a South Korean civic group saying, “The Power of the People has been defeated,” reporting on the results of the 22nd general election.

Today’s report also conveyed the atmosphere of South Korean universities, but it seemed to be an indirect expression of the authorities’ position regarding the anti-South policy.

The government has strongly warned against such tactics by North Korea, calling it an impure attempt to interfere in South Korean politics and public opinion by fostering a negative image of the president. However, North Korea is expected to continue its attempts to build anti-South propaganda.

The newspaper also criticized the U.S. in a separate article, saying, “The double standards of the U.S. and the West are a blatant expression of hegemony and aggression.” It appears to be aimed at inciting hostility internally as the current diplomatic tone pushes for a confrontation between the U.S. and Japan.
