According to the police, the commander of the 22nd Police Protection Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency was suspended on the 25th.

Such actions were taken against the commander as the allegations of abuse of power and personal misconduct were confirmed. The commander is suspected of having abused his power by verbally abusing his subordinates and practicing golf during working hours.

The police inspection office is investigating the commander’s allegations of abuse of power and personal misconduct.

The 22nd Police Protection Unit is a security police unit responsible for protecting the president. It is considered one of the critical positions of the police force as it works with the Presidential Security Service to provide security for the president and state guests.
