High school students who physically assaulted their underclassmen for not greeting them properly have been apprehended by the police.

The Sunchang Police Station in North Jeolla Province announced on the 18th that they had apprehended suspects for suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. The exact number of individuals under investigation has not yet been determined, but it is known that a significant number of students were involved in the assault. 

According to the police, the suspects are accused of assaulting three people, including with a baseball bat on the rooftop of a building in Sunchang-eup at around 8 PM on the 8th.

As a result of the investigation, it has been determined that the suspects committed the crime because the underclassmen did not greet them properly.

The assaulted students are reported to have sustained injuries to their faces and buttocks, requiring medical treatment at the hospital.

A police official stated, “We are identifying the number of people involved in the assault,” adding, “It is difficult to disclose further details at this time as the investigation is ongoing.”
