Pittsburgh Pirates’ Bae Ji Hwan has shaken off his injury and resumed training, signaling his return.

On June 18, MLB announced that Bae had conducted live batting practice at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was also confirmed that he had been practicing defense daily while traveling with the team, which had played six away games last week. Pittsburgh’s manager, Derek Shelton, stated, “Bae will soon be playing in rehabilitation games.”

Bae, who was diagnosed with a right wrist sprain on the 4th and placed on the injured list for ten days, had rested from training for up to two weeks on the advice of medical staff.

As Shelton predicted, Bae is expected to play in minor league rehabilitation games soon, regain his game sense, and then be called to the major league.

Bae started the season in the minor leagues and returned to the major league on May 22. Since then, he has played in eight games, recording an average of 0.208, two runs batted in, and two stolen bases.
