Major League Baseball (MLB) superstar Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers has been selected as the Player of the Week for the ninth time in his career.

On the 25th (Korean time), the MLB office announced that Ohtani had been selected as the National League (NL) Player of the Week. During the past week, Ohtani boasted higher average figures of 0.458 with 4 home runs, 11 RBIs, and an OPS (On-base Plus Slugging) of 1.650.

Ohtani has become the weekly MVP for the ninth time since his debut with the Angels in 2018, and his second time since transferring to the Dodgers last May.

Thanks to his outstanding performance this week, Ohtani’s season stats are now a 0.321 batting average, 23 home runs, 57 RBIs, 61 runs, 97 hits, and an OPS of 1.031. He currently leads the NL in batting average, home runs, and OPS. In his first season since transferring, Ohtani is performing at his best and is aiming for his third personal MVP and the first designated hitter MVP in MLB history.

Meanwhile, Josh Naylor of the Cleveland Guardians has been selected as the Player of the Week in the American League (AL). Naylor recorded a batting average of 0.400 with 3 home runs, 8 RBIs, and an OPS of 1.303 last week.
