On July 1, the U.S. State Department condemned North Korea’s ballistic missile launch. In response to News1‘s inquiry, the spokesperson stated, “Like North Korea’s other ballistic missile launches in recent years, this launch also violated multiple United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.”

The State Department spokesperson criticized North Korea’s ballistic missile launch, stating it “threatens the peace and security at the regional and international level, and weakens the global non-proliferation system.”

He further stated, “We are continually consulting closely with our allies on the best methods to deter North Korea’s aggressive actions and to coordinate an international response to North Korea’s multiple violations of UNSC resolutions.”

He emphasized, “Our defense commitment to South Korea and Japan is ironclad.” The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff announced that North Korea launched two ballistic missiles in a northeast direction early morning on July 1.
