The team behind the film Deadpool and Wolverine, directed by Shawn Levy, has unveiled a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the production, showcasing the collaboration of Hollywood’s top creators.
According to Walt Disney Company Korea on the 12th, Shawn Levy, who directed and wrote this film, stated about the core concept of the production, “I wanted to remain faithful to Deadpool’s DNA, which is raw, realistic, and rooted in the real world.” The production spanned 69 days to enhance authenticity across six sound stages and vast outdoor sets, including disused airfields, parks, and quarries.
Veteran production designer Ray Chan, known for his work on Avengers: Endgame and Guardians of the Galaxy, emphasized, “The crisis the characters faced was more significant than in previous series, with much deeper emotion, necessitating a reflective approach in the set design.” He also affirmed completing a set design that captured the characters’ emotional depth and mission.
The costumes and props, crafted through close collaboration with numerous experts, including costume designer Graham Churchyard, are pivotal elements in this film. The main cast’s costumes, meticulously crafted by a team of artisans, total nearly 300 outfits-155 for principal characters and 135 for extras. Deadpool’s newly upgraded suit and Wolverine’s costume, inspired by the comic book, have garnered enthusiastic praise from fans well before the film’s release for their exceptional synchronization with the characters.
