Rodong Sinmun reported that Kim Jong Un mobilized helicopters to rescue over 4,200 residents isolated by flooding in Sinuiju and Uiju County. The newspaper covered Kim’s command of rescue and evacuation operations across its first two pages, detailing how he directed the use of more than ten helicopters for the rescue efforts and instructed on subsequent measures.

Kim also criticized national and local officials for their negligence, attributing the disaster to inadequate flood-damage preventive measures.

The newspaper’s third page featured content from the feature film Party Secretary of the Military, which urges officials to respond genuinely to the people’s demands and voices and emphasizes the need for officials to serve as faithful servants.

On the fourth page, an article titled “For My Invaluable Hometown and Country” spotlighted workers contributing to the nation’s prosperity and development. It highlighted the efforts at Songhak Farm in Anju City, where workers engaged in pest control and drought mitigation, significantly transforming their local landscapes. Additionally, it noted that women’s union members in Wado-ri, Kwaksan County, surpassed grain production targets by converting low-yield fields into fertile land.

The fifth page called for a new developmental path for the country’s machine industry, stressing that “we are now in an era of machinery presentationalism” where product quality depends on the machinery modernization level. This section called for enhancements in machinery quality.

Following a review of a wheat and barley food exhibition in Sinchon County, Kim expressed confidence that “the Party’s noble intention to elevate the people’s lives to match the status of a prosperous and civilized nation will soon become a reality.”

Finally, page six celebrated the achievements of North Korean athletes at the 2024 International Weightlifting Federation World Cup held in Thailand. The athletes won 38 medals, including 21 golds. The report proclaimed this as evidence that “only the socialist system can truly blossom the lives and happiness of the working people.”
