Samsung Electronics Paraguay recently made headlines by posting an advertisement featuring BTS’ Suga, who has been in the news for a drunk driving incident involving an electric scooter.

Samsung Electronics Paraguay shared a photo on its official X account on August 31. The ad, showcasing Suga using the Freestyle 2nd Gen projector, was captioned, “Here’s how to use your Freestyle 2nd Gen projector.”

The photo displays Suga demonstrating the projector in various settings, including a studio, outdoors, and a workspace.

Previously, Suga and other BTS members served as ambassadors for Samsung Electronics. However, following Suga’s recent controversy over drunk driving, there has been speculation that Samsung Electronics Germany removed him from their promotional materials for the Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone. This follows the deletion of his ad photos from their campaigns.

Despite these rumors, Samsung Electronics Paraguay’s decision to post the advertisement featuring Suga has clarified that the earlier speculations were unfounded. Some BTS fans, known as ARMY, have said, “It’s absurd to suggest that Samsung abandoned Suga,” and “Samsung Electronics Paraguay’s decision should be respected.”

In related news, on the night of August 6, Suga was arrested by Yongsan Police Station in Seoul for drunk driving on an electric scooter. His blood alcohol content was at 0.227%, indicating severe intoxication. On August 23, Suga appeared at the police station and admitted to the charges. After a three-hour interrogation, he expressed profound remorse, stating, “I want to apologize deeply for my inappropriate actions that caused much hurt and disappointment,” and bowed in apology. He also posted a lengthy handwritten letter on the fan community platform Weverse, offering a further apology.
