South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol will meet this week with President Sadyr Japarov of the Kyrgyz Republic to discuss ways to expand cooperation in trade, investment, development, and other areas.

South Korean Presidential Office announced on Monday that Japarov will officially visit South Korea from December 2 to 4. The announcement stated, “During this visit, Yoon will hold a summit with Japarov to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in various fields, including trade, investment, development cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges, as well as regional and international issues.”

Previously, Yoon held a summit with Japarov in September 2023 in New York, United States, while attending the United Nations General Assembly.

At that time, Yoon expressed his hope to contribute to the social and economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic, a key development cooperation partner and priority recipient of South Korea’s official development assistance (ODA), through various development cooperation projects.

In response, Japarov expressed gratitude for South Korea’s support and shared his anticipation for further expansion of development cooperation in diverse fields, including healthcare and agriculture.
