SM Entertainment’s new K-pop girl group Hearts2Hearts has shared key highlights of their debut album.
Hearts2Hearts will officially debut on February 24 with the release of their first single, “The Chase.” The album consists of two tracks: the title and debut song, “The Chase,” and the B-side, “Butterflies.”
With growing global anticipation for Hearts2Hearts’ musical style, as they showcase songs with contrasting moods, the group shared their insights on the album through SM Entertainment on Wednesday.
The title track, The Chase, blends dreamy soundscapes with a unique vocal melody, creating a mysterious and enchanting atmosphere. Its powerful and distinctive bass synths define the track and drive dynamic mood shifts. The lyrics, penned by KENZIE, deliver a confident message: “I will carve my own path” while also expressing excitement and curiosity about the new world ahead.
Regarding the title track, Hearts2Hearts commented, “This song carries a unique and fresh sound that we have never heard before.” They added, “Its dreamy and mysterious vibe reminds us of a violet-hued mist.” The group also highlighted the unexpected twist in the chorus, saying, “We were surprised when we first heard it! The shifting moods within the song make it an exciting listening experience.” Their enthusiasm has heightened anticipation for their debut.
The B-side track, “Butterflies,” is a mid-tempo R&B song that combines a rich bassline, smooth guitar melodies, and layered vocal harmonies, evoking a warm and heartfelt ambiance. The song poetically captures the moment of realizing a long-awaited dream, offering a distinct charm compared to the title track.
For “Butterflies,” Hearts2Hearts emphasized the harmony between its melody and lyrics, saying, “The warm yet refreshing melody perfectly complements the beautiful lyrics, which convey excitement and hope for a new beginning.” They added, “The moment we heard it, butterflies fluttered around us. It’s the perfect song to listen to while driving, watching the sunset, or during quiet early morning hours.”
Meanwhile, at midnight on Wednesday, Hearts2Hearts drew attention by unveiling unit teaser images for The Chase on various official social media platforms. The images showcased the unique aura and captivating visuals of members Yuha, Juun, A-na, Ian, and Ye-on, further fueling anticipation for their debut.
