Samsung Display is poised to launch its foldable brand MONT FLEX™. This strategic move aims to further differentiate the company’s position as a technology leader by branding its unrivaled foldable Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) technology.

On Tuesday, Samsung Display announced plans to officially unveil the foldable brand MONT FLEX and present its vision at the K-Display 2025 Korea Display Industry Exhibition. The event is scheduled to take place from this Thursday to Saturday at COEX Convention & Exhibition Center in Seoul’s Gangnam district.

The name MONT FLEX is a clever combination of the French word MONT, meaning mountain, and Flexible. It draws inspiration from the mountain-like appearance of a partially folded smartphone.

Each letter in MONT represents a key feature: M for Mechanically Durable, highlighting excellent folding endurance; O for Opto-mechanically Flat, ensuring a crisp, wrinkle-free display; N for Narrow Bezel Enabling, emphasizing slim edges; and T for Thin and Light, underscoring its sleek, lightweight design.

Samsung Display’s foldable OLED technology is now in its seventh year of mass production. The company has earned industry-wide recognition for its unparalleled durability and design, having pioneered the integration of Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) and the polarizer-free On-Cell Film (OCF) technology LEAD™ into foldable devices.

The latest foldable OLED product has garnered praise for its thinner, lighter design and exceptional durability, having successfully withstood a rigorous 500,000-fold test.

At the K-Display exhibition, Samsung Display will showcase a booth divided into four sections, with one complete section dedicated to highlighting the MONT FLEX and LEAD brands, emphasizing the company’s core competency in foldable OLED technology.

Yun Jae-nam, Vice President and Mobile Display Marketing for Samsung Display’s Small and Medium Business Division, stated that its committed to pushing boundaries and exceeding market expectations. Further adding that its recent launch of products featuring the shock-resistant enhanced structure, which passed the 500,000-fold test, is just the beginning and that will continue to strive for even more advanced foldable products in the future.
