The webtoon Deception is a mystery horror period drama that depicts a mysterious vampire story set in Gyeongseong in 1935 and Shanghai in the 1800s, which gained popularity when it was serialized on Naver in 2019.
The director is Han Jae Rim, who directed Rules of Dating (2005), The Show Must Go On (2007), The Face Reader (2013), The King (2016), Emergency Declaration (2022), etc. It is drawing attention as Han Jae Rim’s first drama challenge.
Meanwhile, rumors of Ryu Jun Yeol and Han So Hee’s romance surfaced as news of their trip to Hawaii together was reported. Posts about the two enjoying their vacation spread through social media, sparking the rumors.
One netizen mentioned, “Korea’s popular actors are playing next to the hotel swimming pool” during their Hawaii trip, tagging the titles of the dramas Reply 1988 and Nevertheless, etc. Both Reply 1988 and Nevertheless, are works in which Ryu Jun Yeol and Han So Hee have appeared, respectively, leading to speculation that the two might be traveling together.
In response, C-JeS Studio, Ryu Jun Yeol’s agency, confirmed to News1 that “it is true that Ryu Jun Yeol is in Hawaii for a photo shoot,” but also asked for understanding, stating, “We ask you to respect the actor’s trip.” They added, “In the future, we will not respond individually to sightings from private spaces. We ask for your understanding.”
