North Korea confirmed the successful test launch of its latest surface-to-air missile system on Thursday.
The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the ruling Workers’ Party, reported that the Missile Bureau conducted a test launch on Thursday at a defense industry facility where full-scale production had recently commenced to evaluate the comprehensive combat performance of its newly developed surface-to-air missile system.
Kim Jong Un and members of the Central Military Commission were present to oversee the launch.
State media claimed the test demonstrated the system’s exceptional combat responsiveness and confirmed its reliability.
Kim reportedly praised the weapon system’s impressive combat performance, emphasizing that it would significantly bolster the nation’s defense capabilities. He also appreciated the research team and defense industry personnel contributing to its development.
