On Monday, TheStage AI, a startup specializing in AI model optimization, announced a successful $4.5 million funding round.

Mehreen Malik, founder of ML Capital, spearheaded the investment, which received additional backing from prominent figures, including Dominic Williams, founder of DFINITY; Nick Davidov of Davidov VC, Atlantic Labs, and AAL VC.

TheStage AI’s primary focus is streamlining the intricate process of AI model tuning through automated optimization. The company aims to tackle the industry-wide challenge of AI models’ heavy reliance on costly GPU infrastructure.

At the heart of TheStage AI’s innovation is ANNA (Automatic NNs Analyzer), a proprietary technology that leverages AI and advanced mathematical algorithms to fine-tune PyTorch models automatically. The company claims this groundbreaking approach can boost AI model performance by up to five times while dramatically reducing optimization time from months to hours.

To empower developers, TheStage AI offers pre-optimized Elastic models across various open-source platforms. This initiative allows developers to select models that best align with their specific performance, speed, and cost-effectiveness requirements.
