Sony is set to bring back classic console themes for the PlayStation 5 (PS5), as reported by The Verge on Wednesday.

The classic themes, which Sony initially offered as a limited-time feature to commemorate PlayStation’s 30th anniversary last year, will now become a permanent fixture due to overwhelming user enthusiasm. Each theme faithfully recreates the nostalgic feel of its respective console, complete with iconic boot-up sounds.

With this update, users can access the classic themes through the Appearance option in the PS5 settings menu, allowing them to customize their dashboard with their preferred console style. The update also introduces a new audio focus feature for headphone users, enabling them to emphasize specific sounds. Four presets are available, including voice boost, left-right channel adjustment, and audio intensity settings, offering a more refined audio experience.

Sony explained that this update aims to let PS5 users relive the nostalgia of previous PlayStation generations while enjoying cutting-edge technology. The company also hinted at future enhancements, suggesting that the PS5 user experience will continue to evolve and improve.
