Google has rolled out its AI mode to all U.S. users, eliminating wait times for access. This advanced search feature, capable of handling complex queries and providing nuanced responses through follow-up questions, has already been tested by millions through Google Labs, as reported by PhoneArena on Monday.

The expanded release brings enhanced capabilities to the AI mode. Users can now access detailed information about specific locations or products, with visual cards displaying ratings, operating hours, and reviews. For shoppers, the system offers real-time pricing, promotional details, and shipping information, facilitating more informed purchasing decisions. The AI mode leverages Google’s extensive shopping graph, updating over 2 billion product listings hourly to ensure data accuracy.

To improve user experience, the desktop version now features a left panel for reviewing past searches and adding follow-up questions. Google is currently testing the integration of AI mode directly into the search tab for select U.S. users, moving beyond its initial Google Labs environment. The company plans to refine the AI mode continuously based on user feedback and promises optimal performance on both Android and iOS mobile apps.

In related news, OpenAI’s ChatGPT has recently introduced shopping features, intensifying competition with Google. ChatGPT now offers product recommendations within specific price ranges and gift suggestions, distinguishing itself by providing these services at no cost to users.
