Google is expanding its AI capabilities beyond Gmail summarization to include video analysis in Google Drive, as reported by The Verge on Thursday.

Gemini AI, which previously summarized documents and PDFs, can now extract key content from stored videos.

The new “Gemini in Drive” feature employs a chatbot interface to generate video summaries and search for specific information. Users can now organize action items from conference recording videos or automatically extract key updates and new product details from presentation videos. This time-saving tool enables quick comprehension of essential content without requiring the viewing of entire videos.

To utilize this feature, videos must have captions. Currently available in English, it will be rolled out gradually to Google Workspace and Google One AI Premium subscribers, as well as those who have purchased the Gemini Business or Enterprise add-on.
