The massive data trove is believed to have been harvested using malicious software known as Infostealers.

They recommend checking for potential account compromises through services like “Have I Been Pwned” and strongly advise enabling two-factor authentication across all platforms. Google is promoting the use of passkeys and offers tools such as password managers and dark web reports to help users verify if their information has been compromised.
GitHub has issued a call to action for developers, encouraging them to implement robust security policies and adopt two-factor authentication. Meta has ramped up its security measures, offering a privacy checkup tool to facilitate the setup of two-factor authentication. Meanwhile, Telegram has doubled down on security by making one-time passwords sent via SMS their default login method. This monumental breach serves as a wake-up call, compelling both corporations and individuals to significantly bolster their cybersecurity defenses.
