CJ ENM is expanding its partnership with Amazon Prime Video to broaden the reach of K-content in the U.S. through Free Ad-Supported Streaming television (FAST).
On Thursday, CJ ENM announced the launch of two branded FAST channels on Amazon Prime Video: CJ ENM K-Stories and CJ ENM K-Pop.
Both channels will operate 24/7 and offer free, ad-supported viewing on Amazon Prime Video.
The CJ ENM K-Stories channel will primarily feature CJ ENM’s popular dramas and films. In its debut month, viewers can enjoy hit series like “The K2,” “Her Private Life,” and “Tale of the Nine-Tailed,” along with blockbuster movies such as “Veteran” and “Exit”.
The CJ ENM K-Pop channel will showcase music and performance content. It will predominantly feature content produced by CJ ENM’s digital music studio M2, including the fan-favorite MPD FanCam series and various K-Pop music programs.
The content lineup for both channels will be refreshed monthly.
CJ ENM emphasized that the launch of these FAST channels is a significant step in expanding their distribution through Amazon Prime Video and maximizing the potential of their content library. The company views this as an opportunity to connect with a global audience and cultivate a new fan base for K-content.
FAST is an emerging streaming model that allows viewers to watch content for free in exchange for viewing advertisements. Unlike traditional subscription-based over-the-top (OTT) services, FAST doesn’t require a monthly fee and offers content organized like traditional broadcast channels, providing real-time programming.
