ezCaretech, the leading digital healthcare company in South Korea, is ramping up its expansion into the Middle East, with Saudi Arabia as its primary target. The firm aims to boost its competitiveness by consistently implementing marketing strategies in the region, capitalizing on its cutting-edge technology.

At the recent JP Morgan Healthcare Conference (JPM), ezCaretech made a strong push for global investor relations, garnering positive feedback. The company is actively seeking partners for mutual growth in the global market, using this as a springboard to evolve into a world-class digital healthcare platform provider.

Industry sources reported on Friday that ezCaretech, which originated as a spin-off from Seoul National University Hospital’s Information Technology (IT) department in 2001, now boasts the country’s largest team of 430 to 450 hospital information system (HIS) specialists. The company’s four main divisions—domestic operations, international operations, business support (SI), and cloud services—are spearheading large-scale projects to expand market share.

ezCaretech has already cemented its position in the South Korean market, undertaking major projects with institutions such as Wonju Severance Christian Hospital, Veterans Hospital, and Fire Hospital. The Veterans Hospital project, which involves establishing a private cloud at the Daegu Integrated Information Center and implementing the next-generation HIS BestCare, is hailed as the largest of its kind in the nation.

The company is now setting its sights on global expansion. ezCaretech has inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS), a top-tier Saudi medical school, to collaborate on digital healthcare, hospital information systems, and health insurance. This marks the first such agreement between a South Korean digital healthcare firm and a Saudi medical institution. The company is also partnering with Lean, a subsidiary of the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF).

JP Morgan Healthcare Conference: Seeking Global Partners for Medical AI

In mid-January, the company participated in the JPM Healthcare Conference in San Francisco, engaging in extensive networking activities.

Choi Hyung-woo, head of international operations, who attended the event, remarked that its technology is turning heads abroad. Customers appreciate that our solutions rival those of American companies in quality, while offering better value. It feels like they’re setting new standards in the global healthcare IT landscape.

ezCaretech’s vision centers on creating an artificial intelligence (AI) powered data healthcare platform. Unlike American electronic health records (EHR) systems that often operate separately for different departments like emergency medicine, ezCaretech offers an all-in-one platform that integrates all hospital operations. This comprehensive approach allows users to access multiple advanced features simultaneously, a significant advantage in the field.

Choi noted that in Saudi Arabia, there’s growing frustration with American systems due to their high costs and subpar after-sales service. The system stands out for its stability and seamless upgradability.

He elaborated that the growth strategy revolves around co-creating a digital healthcare ecosystem with the clients. By transitioning to a cloud-based system and integrating AI, it can consolidate all medical data and technologies in one unified platform.

Choi expressed optimism about the company’s future, stating that with its innovative technology, they’re confident in establishing a strong global market presence within 2 to 3 years. As we continue to expand, breaking into the top five is within reach, and we’re aiming for industry leadership. This year marks the beginning of that journey.
