Waycen, an artificial intelligence (AI) driven medtech company, announced on Thursday that it has forged a strategic partnership with Dhafir Medical, a United Arab Emirates (UAE) based medical device specialist. The agreement was signed during the WHX 2026 medical exhibition in Dubai.

Under this collaboration, both entities will work together on several key initiatives. These include facilitating the entry of Waycen’s AI endoscope, Waymed Endo, into the UAE market and providing comprehensive medical AI training and clinical support for healthcare professionals across the Middle East.

The partnership builds on Waycen’s existing success in Abu Dhabi, where Waymed Endo has already been implemented and operated in local medical institutions, establishing a strong reference point.

Interviews with medical staff at these facilities revealed high satisfaction rates in terms of clinical usability, diagnostic support, and workflow enhancement. This positive feedback serves as compelling evidence for potential market expansion in the UAE.

The Korea Health Industry Development Institute’s UAE branch played a crucial role in brokering this partnership by aligning the technological prowess and market potential of both companies.

Lee Young-ho, head of the UAE branch, stated that they’ve been actively facilitating connections with local partners to ensure Korea’s cutting-edge AI medical technology translates into tangible business success in the Middle East. It hopes this agreement will serve as a catalyst for the rapid adoption of K-medical AI throughout the region.

Leveraging Dhafir Medical’s extensive healthcare network and local distribution capabilities, Waycen aims to expand the deployment of Waymed Endo across UAE hospitals and health screening centers. This strategic move will serve as a springboard for gradually extending the application of the AI endoscope throughout the Middle East.

Waycen’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kim Kyung-nam, commented that it has already demonstrated the viability of its business model by generating stable overseas revenue with Waymed Endo in Southeast Asia. This new partnership allows us to set the sights on achieving concrete results in the Middle East market in the near future.

He further added that starting with the UAE, it is committed to working closely with the local partners to ensure the successful integration and stabilization of K-medical AI technology within the Middle Eastern healthcare ecosystem.
