AITRICS, a medical artificial intelligence (AI) company, announced on Thursday that it has received medical device approval for its AI solution AITRICS-VC (VitalCare) from the Indonesian Ministry of Health (MoH). VitalCare predicts patient condition deterioration.
VitalCare is an advanced medical AI solution that leverages hospital electronic medical record (EMR) data to provide early predictions of patient condition decline.
In general wards, the system forecasts risks for critical events such as death, transfer to intensive care, cardiac arrest, and sepsis. In intensive care units, it predicts mortality risk. This enables medical staff to swiftly identify high-risk patients and take proactive measures.
The Indonesian Ministry of Health recently unveiled its 2025-2029 Digital Health Innovation Strategy (DHTS). This plan focuses on developing smart hospitals and expanding the use of AI-based standalone software medical devices (SaMD), centered around the integrated health data platform SATUSEHAT.
Indonesia, boasting Southeast Asia’s largest population, is rapidly advancing its digital healthcare infrastructure. The country is establishing a nationwide unified medical data platform, facilitating data sharing and interoperability among healthcare providers. This development is creating a fertile environment for the adoption of medical AI technologies.
This approval gives AITRICS significant momentum as it enters the Southeast Asian market.
With this latest authorization, VitalCare has now secured approvals in five countries: South Korea, the U.S., Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Indonesia. This milestone lays a solid foundation for the company’s global expansion plans. AITRICS intends to leverage this success to penetrate additional international markets.
