Dong-A Pharmaceutical has launched Turbineu Double Action Aerosol, a spray-type athlete’s foot treatment that is easy to apply.
According to Dong-A Pharmaceutical on Friday, Turbineu Double Action Aerosol is a spray-type product that can be easily applied even to hard-to-reach areas, and its 360-degree spray nozzle allows for effortless application from any direction.
In addition, the product contains a quadruple combination of ingredients (△terbinafine, △diphenhydramine, △enoxolone, △lidocaine) that help treat the fungi causing athlete’s foot, thereby aiding in the treatment of the condition and alleviating symptoms such as itching.
Athlete’s foot is a superficial fungal infection caused by dermatophytes. Since the fungus that causes athlete’s foot proliferates rapidly in the hot and humid summer months, if appropriate treatment is not sought after initial itching symptoms appear, the condition can worsen into chronic athlete’s foot.
According to the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, there are approximately 2.5 million patients with athlete’s foot annually, with the highest number occurring in July and August—averaging over 280,000 per month.
Turbineu Double Action Aerosol is an over-the-counter medication available at local pharmacies.
In addition, Dong-A Pharmaceutical’s Turbineu line of athlete’s foot treatments includes gel-type products such as △Turbineu Gel and △Turbineu Double Action Gel; liquid formulations such as △Turbineu Once Topical Solution; and spray-type products such as △Turbineu Double Action Aerosol. In particular, Turbineu Gel ranked first in sales volume in the domestic athlete’s foot treatment market for four consecutive years from 2020 to 2023, according to IQVIA.
A representative from Dong-A Pharmaceutical explained that since consistent management is crucial for athlete’s foot, it has introduced a new spray-type product designed for greater ease of use, adding that it hopes that Turbineu Double Action Aerosol will serve as a new treatment option that can be easily applied even to hard-to-reach areas.
