Daewoong Pharmaceutical is ramping up its expansion into the healthcare sector by partnering with domestic digital healthcare companies to leverage medical data and artificial intelligence (AI). The company aims to create a comprehensive digital healthcare ecosystem that covers disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare, moving beyond its traditional focus on pharmaceuticals and increasing hospital adoption.

Industry sources reported on Friday that Daewoong Pharmaceutical unveiled the Daewoong Alliance with 12 domestic digital healthcare companies at K-HOSPITAL + HEALTHTECH FAIR 2026 (KHF 2026) held at COEX in Seoul from August 19 to 21.

The Daewoong Alliance is a digital healthcare collaboration model spearheaded by Daewoong Pharmaceutical. It aims to integrate health data from medical institutions and daily life to create services that encompass prevention, prediction, personalization, and patient engagement.

At the expo, the company showcased solutions spanning the entire healthcare spectrum, from disease prevention and prediction to early diagnosis, treatment, aftercare, and monitoring. Notably, the exhibition highlighted the integration of technologies from multiple companies tailored to the patient journey in clinical settings, rather than promoting individual products.

In the prevention and prediction sector, featured solutions included Medical AI’s electrocardiogram analysis tool AiTiA, Ark’s fundus photography-based screening solution for vision-threatening diseases Optina·Whiskey, Promedius’s chest X-ray-based osteoporosis risk analysis tool Osteo Signal, and Exosystems’ musculoskeletal and biosignal analysis technology.

The early diagnosis area showcased TR’s AI-powered respiratory diagnostic solution The SpiroKit and Skylab’s ring-type continuous blood pressure monitor CART BP pro.

For treatment, HUROTICS presented its wearable gait rehabilitation robot H-Medi, while EverEx and OrthoCare unveiled digital treatment and diagnostic solutions for various conditions. The post-care and monitoring sector featured Thears’ inpatient monitoring platform thynC, Skylab’s CartOn, iCoop’s hospital-based continuous glucose monitoring solution General Motors Live, and Puzzle AI’s AI voice recognition-based medical record solution PuzzleGen.

Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s collaboration with such a diverse range of companies indicates a strategy to expand digital healthcare beyond individual solution sales into integrated hospital-wide implementations. The company plans to combine its partners’ AI, medical device, and data technologies with Daewoong’s extensive healthcare network and commercialization expertise to deploy these solutions in real-world medical settings.

The exhibition also featured expert lectures highlighting practical applications and clinical value in actual healthcare environments, alongside technology demonstrations. With 34 lectures attracting over 700 attendees, the event confirmed strong interest from healthcare institution representatives.

Looking ahead, Daewoong Pharmaceutical plans to engage in discussions with domestic and international hospital representatives contacted during the exhibition to explore specific implementation strategies and commercialization plans, aiming to broaden the adoption of the Daewoong Alliance in medical institutions.

Lee Chang-jae, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Daewoong Pharmaceutical, stated that it successfully showcased the vision and capabilities of the Daewoong Alliance alongside the world-class technology partners. The goal is to lead the development of a data-driven, comprehensive healthcare ecosystem that seamlessly connects everyday data, covering everything from prediction to aftercare.

Daewoong Pharmaceutical views the Daewoong Alliance as a strategic initiative to cultivate digital healthcare as a new growth engine, expanding beyond its traditional pharmaceutical focus. Rather than concentrating solely on in-house technology development, the company aims to collaborate with various digital healthcare firms to acquire solutions and leverage its existing healthcare network and sales and marketing capabilities to facilitate real-world implementation in medical settings.
