Daewoong Pharmaceutical announced on the 20th that it held the Nabota Master Class (NMC) LATAM 2026, an educational program for medical professionals, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on the 13th and 14th.

Since entering Panama in 2015, Daewoong Pharmaceutical has expanded its business across Latin America, launching Nabota in 12 countries, including Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru. According to market research firm Grand View Research, the Latin American aesthetic injectables market was valued at $520.3 million last year and is projected to grow at an annual average rate of 9.0% through 2033.

Nabota became the first South Korean botulinum toxin product to receive marketing approval in Argentina and has since been commercialized in the country. Its sales in South America recorded a compound annual growth rate of 20% over the past three years.

Botulinum toxin is a purified substance derived from a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It temporarily blocks signals transmitted from nerves to muscles, reducing muscle movement. In addition to cosmetic procedures such as wrinkle reduction, it is used to treat certain medical conditions, including muscle spasticity and excessive sweating.

Held under the theme “Elevating the Art of Aesthetic Medicine,” the event marked the first time NMC had been held in Latin America. About 200 medical professionals from six countries—Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Peru and Panama—attended, making it the largest NMC gathering to date involving medical professionals from multiple countries.

Participants shared customized treatment strategies that account for the anatomical characteristics and facial expression patterns of Latin American patients. Topics included lifting and skin-quality improvement techniques using Nabota procedures NabоLift and NabоGlow, as well as clinical experience in treating excessive sweating and performing masseter muscle injections.

Live demonstrations showcased a range of procedures, including Glowtox, a combination treatment that pairs botulinum toxin with skin boosters. Attending medical professionals also exchanged practical treatment techniques applicable to clinical practice through question-and-answer sessions.

“This event was significant because it explored the diverse potential applications of Nabota based on the clinical experience and expertise of medical professionals from different countries,” said Yoon Jun-soo, head of Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s Nabota business division. “We will continue expanding educational programs that reflect regional medical environments and academic needs.”
