Daewoong Pharmaceutical is set to unveil an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered smart hospital model in partnership with Dongtan City Hospital and 13 allied companies. This innovative system will cover a wide range of medical applications, from ward monitoring to diagnosis, testing, and rehabilitation.

The company announced on Thursday that it will host a joint exhibition booth with Dongtan City Hospital at the upcoming AI EXPO MARS 2026, scheduled for November 3-5 at COEX in Seoul’s Gangnam district.

Spanning approximately 180 square meters (1,940 square feet), the exhibition space will feature three distinct areas: a smart ward mirroring a real hospital environment, a diagnostic and testing room, and a rehabilitation center. Visitors will witness cutting-edge technologies in action, including real-time patient vital sign monitoring systems, AI-driven testing procedures, and rehabilitation programs utilizing wearable robotics.

This showcase goes beyond merely presenting individual medical devices. It aims to demonstrate how various companies’ solutions can be integrated into a cohesive medical environment. By merging the operational expertise of healthcare facilities with the latest tech innovations, Daewoong seeks to present a comprehensive model for real-world hospital implementation. The exhibition will explore the practical applications and potential growth of digital healthcare technologies in clinical settings.

The smart ward section will spotlight SEERS’ AI bed monitoring system thynC, Skylabs’ continuous blood pressure monitoring solution CART ON, and iCoop’s continuous glucose monitoring system CGM Live. Puzzle AI’s voice-activated nursing record solution CL Note will also be on display, showcasing how AI can transform spoken medical observations into digital records.

In the diagnostic and testing area, visitors can examine Remedy’s portable X-ray device REMEX-Xcam6 and TR’s digital lung function tester TheSpiroKit. The exhibition will also feature ExoSystems’ AI-assisted sarcopenia diagnostic tool, Arc’s fundus imaging-based disease risk screening system, Minds AI’s depression diagnostic solution, and Waycen’s AI-powered endoscopic image analyzer.

The rehabilitation center will showcase Hurotics’ wearable gait rehabilitation robot H-medi, MyBenefit’s AI-driven motion analysis exercise platform VirtualMate, and Imocog’s digital therapeutic device Cogtera for mild cognitive impairment. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience personalized exercise posture analysis and observe robotic gait training demonstrations.

This exhibition is an extension of Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s ongoing digital healthcare collaboration with Hwaseong Special City and Dongtan City Hospital. In September, the company formalized a partnership with these entities and the non-profit Space and Sharing, focusing on community health management and support for underserved populations.

The collaborative initiative aims to leverage local government public health infrastructure, hospital expertise, and corporate digital health technologies to provide health screenings and preventive consultations. It will also facilitate connecting citizens with identified health issues to appropriate medical services. The overarching goal is to create a model that bridges in-hospital digital transformation with broader community health management.

Dongtan City Hospital, in collaboration with Daewoong Pharmaceutical and Seers, has implemented the thynC system across all patient beds, establishing a comprehensive ward monitoring network. At this exhibition, they will demonstrate an integrated hospital environment that incorporates digital technologies across diagnostic, testing, and rehabilitation domains, drawing from their real-world operational experience.

The partnership with Hwaseong City exemplifies a model for integrating community health management through digital healthcare solutions.

Daewoong Pharmaceutical intends to expand its healthcare model, encompassing prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and follow-up care, through strategic collaborations among local governments, healthcare providers, and technology firms.

Kim Mi-young, Administrative Director of Dongtan City Hospital, emphasized that the true value of an AI smart hospital lies not just in the technology itself, but in its ability to enhance patient safety and create an environment where healthcare providers can focus more intently on patient care. It’s excited to showcase a model that seamlessly connects diagnosis and testing with treatment and rehabilitation, based on the hands-on experience in smart ward operations.

Lee Chang-jae, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Daewoong Pharmaceutical, stated that this event is designed to present an integrated digital healthcare model that can be practically implemented in real-world medical settings. Through collaborative efforts among local governments, healthcare institutions, and technology companies, it aims to build a portfolio of practical applications and expand the comprehensive healthcare model.

Concurrently, Daewoong Pharmaceutical is advancing its smart ward initiative by expanding the deployment of thynC to major medical centers and regional hospitals. This system enables continuous monitoring of critically ill patients and those in perioperative care, significantly enhancing patient safety management across general wards.

The company is developing tailored utilization guidelines that account for the unique patient profiles and operational environments of various healthcare facilities, with the goal of broadening the system’s applicability across diverse medical settings.
