I-DLE’s Soyeon recently shared an amusing anecdote about her hairstyle during the group’s “Good Thing” promotions on JTBC’s hit variety show Knowing Bros.
The episode, which aired on July 11, featured the full lineup of I-DLE members: Minnie, Miyeon, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua.
During the show, the cast played a game called Guess Soyeon’s Lie, where Soyeon presented three statements: she received height-boosting massages as a child, she cried after getting her hair cut for “Good Thing” promotions, and her childhood dream was to be a circus performer. The challenge was to identify the false statement.
Recounting the “Good Thing” era, Soyeon explained that the new visual director proposed a dramatic hairstyle change. Initially, she was on board, but when she heard the buzz of the clippers, shje became so distraught that tears welled up.
Most of the cast members doubted the haircut story, reasoning that since Soyeon produced “Good Thing” herself, she wouldn’t have been upset over a haircut.
As it turned out, the haircut story was indeed the lie. When the truth was revealed, Soyeon confessed with a laugh, that to be honest, she was thinking, Wow, I’ve really made it this far? That’s incredible! Her candid admission of self-admiration had everyone in stitches.
She then joked that she had considered cutting her hair short again just yesterday, to which Lee Soo Geun quipped that’s why it came prepared with clippers! The witty exchange sent the studio into an uproar of laughter.
