SK Chemicals announced on Monday that it conducted a volunteer activity to create Emergency Relief Kits as part of its 2026 Value Day program at its headquarters in Pangyo, Seongnam.

The kits contain 30 essential items needed by disaster victims, including food, hygiene products, emergency supplies, safety gear, daily necessities, and moisture absorbers. SK Chemicals employees personally assembled a total of 400 emergency relief kits.

The completed kits will be delivered to the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) G Foundation, which will store and manage them at their logistics warehouse in Yeoju. G Foundation, an international development cooperation NGO, will distribute the kits within three days to areas requiring urgent support during disasters. The organization focuses on supporting vulnerable populations both domestically and abroad, as well as disaster relief efforts.

SK Chemicals plans to actively identify and promote environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities that address societal issues, including climate crises and disasters, with a focus on employee participation.

Ko Jeong-seok, head of SK Chemicals’ Management Support Division, stated that as the climate crisis intensifies, social uncertainties such as disasters are on the rise. The company and employees are committed to actively engaging in social issues and exploring various ways to prepare for these challenges collectively.

Value Day is a social contribution program that SK Chemicals has been implementing since 2025 to support the well-being and recovery of vulnerable groups in the community. Last year, the company produced 450 emergency relief kits, prioritizing the distribution of 150 of them to households of people with disabilities affected by wildfires in the regions of Uiseong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok in North Gyeongsang Province.
